Aamir Khan is furious with one film old Prateik Babbar who made him wait all day on the sets of Kiran Rao’s Dhobi Ghaat. Dhobi Ghaat starring Prateik Babbar and Aamir Khan is Kiran Rao’s first tryst with filmmaking. The news of Aamir playing lead in Dhobi Ghaat was kept under wraps as Kiran didn’t want to attract unnecessary attention to her film. The film is about a life of a painter essayed by Aamir with Prateik playing a dhobi who washes his clothes. Kiran was ecstatic to have Prateik on board as she loved his restrained but eye-catching performance in Abbas Tyrewala’s Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.
However both Aamir and Kiran were left deeply upset with Prateik’s unprofessional behaviour when he left for Goa without any prior notice.A source on the sets revealed the events that transpired that day saying, “Aamir reached on time at the set erected at Masjid Bunder and had only just finished rehearsing when he heard that Prateik hadn’t reached on set yet. The entire cast and crew waited for close to an hour when they began frantically calling Prateik who refused to answer his calls or messages. Only when half of the day had passed that they find that Prateik had left for Goa for two days without even notifying anyone. Aamir was completely frustrated and gave him a piece of his mind once he got through Prateik the next day.
The source further adds, “Considering the fact that Aamir is literally ghost-directing Dhobi Ghaat, the authoritarian that he is, he isn’t going to take anyone’s s**t on set.The film has already been delayed due to Kiran’s unfortunate miscarriage and Aamir wants to get done with the leftover scenes and post- production matters of the film and soon. Its true that Prateik is on his own trip most of the times but that isn’t supposed to translate in ones professional life. Aamir very sweetly put it across to Prateik that such type of unprofessional behaviour isn’t going to be tolerated next time around.”
