Despite managing a measly 63 followers in a day, Bhojpuri actor Kamal Rashid Khan predicts he will gather more followers than Shah Rukh in a month; incidentally SRK already has over 30,000 in 2 days

There may be glory in being the real Shah Rukh Khan, but it does not hurt to be a fake one either.

For even a fake SRK attracts over 1,000 followers on Twitter compared to a real KRK, who is yet to reach even the three-figure mark.

On Saturday, SRK began tweeting for the first time. Within an hour, a prankster claiming to be the real SRK was also on the micro-blogging site, and over time the pretender to the throne managed to fool hundreds of King Khan fans into following him.

Then, yesterday, as netizens tried hard to distinguish between the real star and the fake, Bhojpuri actor and Bigg Boss contestant Kamal R Khan also jumped into the fray.
Numbers game

In only his second tweet, KRK went on to challenge Shah Rukh, saying he would have more followers than him in a month. Kamal's first tweet read, "The real KRK is here.

Please don't follow any other fake KRK. Main hi saccha hun." He challenged SRK a few hours later: "Main @iamsrk (Shah Rukh Khan) KO challenge karta hun.

1 mahine mein mere usse zyada followers honge. i don't have any @Kjohar25 (Karan Johar) behind me."

The number of followers of the real SRK on Twitter (@iamsrk) stood at 30,318, at the time of going to press, while the pretender (@imsrk) had attracted 1,844 of the star's fans.

The tweeting maze doesn't end here. There was another KRK out there on Twitter yesterday called @imkrk.

This one had the words 'Of course, a FAKE profile!!!' on his page and he took on the fake SRK in the opening tweet, asking him to "learn from me. have a profile image". He spelt his name 'Kamaal'.

Verified accounts

Meanwhile, a blog hosted by Twitter to track fakes said it planned to introduce 'verified accounts' to protect users from impostors.

Quoting Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, it said, "We do recognise an opportunity to improve Twitter user experience and clear up confusion beyond simply removing impersonation accounts once alerted."

Stone added that verified accounts would feature a special seal that would be introduced with a beta preview in the coming months for a select set of people.

These people will include public officials, public agencies, famous artists, athletes, and other well-known individuals at risk of impersonation.

"This doesn't mean accounts without any verification seal are fake.

The vast majority of Twitter accounts are not impersonators, Another way to determine authenticity is to check the official website of the person for a link back to their Twitter account," said Stone.

The Twitter page of Karan Johar (kjohar25) already displays the 'verified account' seal.

As for the fake SRK, he kept tweeting all through, even lifting the actor's tweets.

To make it all appear genuine, the fake SRK, like the real one, is also following Karan Johar the real one. Just for the record, Johar was the one who prodded SRK to take to Twitter. Advertisement

Shahrukh loves Priyanka Chopra’s voice

Bollywood beauty Priyanka Chopra is on cloud nine these days, as the actress has found a real devotee in none other than megastar Shahrukh Khan. SRK lately praised Priyanka Chops at a media event for the promotion of ‘My Name Is Khan’.The actor said, Priyanka is one of the finest actresses of this generation. Five years down the line, Priyanka will still be on top. Shahrukh Khan bowled over by 'Avatar'

It’s the movie that has got the world talking. Director-producer James Cameron has raised the bar with his 3-D science fiction epic film Avatar which is set in 2154 AD on an Earth-sized planet called Pandora around Alpha Centauri, the closest star system to the Earth after the Sun.

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan saw the movie as a guest at a special screening in suburban Mumbai and was left speechless after the flick. So bowled over was he that he requested the Indian CEO of the film’s international distributor to hold another screening of the film for him and his kids and wife in the coming days.

The studio people plan to hold the second screening on Saturday, but the time and venue is yet to be finalized.

Shahrukh’s love for sci-fi isn’t secret. His production house is already in the process of making Ra.One, a sci-fi thriller starring SRK as a superhero.

Shahrukh Khan looks west for his Ra 1

Shahrukh Khan wants his Ra 1 look to be special from any of glitter town’s earlier movies.So, this time there won’t be the usual Manish Malhotra, Anaita Shroff or even Karan Johar to design his costumes for his upcoming sci-fi movie venture Ra 1. Not taking any chances, King Khan has sought the services of a London- based designer to help him with the costumes. The movie will be directed by Anubhav Sinha.

Johar, one of SRK’s close friends, usually has a say in what the top actor wears not just in films, but also in real life. But then, SRK is very sure about his priorities. He is not working in a Gucci Gucci Hota Hai for Johar, sources say.We had earlier seen SRK wearing a superhero costume for a scene in filmmaker Farah Khan’s superhit movie.

King Khan has scheduled a London trip just for a costume trial.The movie will go on the floors soon after he finishes the publicity blitz for his big finances project My Name is Khan. King Khan’s other movie Dulha Mil Gaya releases soon in which he has a small role.

Sushmita banks on Shahrukh for comeback

Former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen is desperately looking for a foothold in the industry. And she has none other than her Main Hoon Na co- star Shah Rukh Khan to help her with the same. Sushmita, whose big- budget period film on Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi is yet to see the light of day, is now banking on Dulha Mil Gaya. The film, directed by Mudassar Aziz, has SRK in a guest appearance. The long- pending film has not yet found distributers despite Shah Rukh’s presence, but promotions are on in full swing. It is expected to be ready for release in January 2010.

During promotions, Sushmita has not stopped talking about a particular golden gown that she had to wear for a song sequence.It was reportedly so uncomfortable that it bruised her.The gown was made of a material that was harsh on her skin. But the actress, who is known for her tantrums, did not complain even once.A source from the production house said: ” The dress was undoubtedly gorgeous.But the material used to hurt Sushmita. She still wore the dress for the shoot, which lasted almost four days.” Unit members also concur.

The actress was not fussy about the dress at all. In fact, she was cooperative and finished the shoot properly. ” She wanted to prove she is a thorough professional,” another source said. And, if the sources are to be believed, it was no mean effort. Sush’s body bore bruises by the time the shoot was over!

Aamir didn’t have to apologise: SRK

It seems that Shah Rukh Khan has buried the hatchet with Aamir Khan ever since the Ghajini star apologised to his children for making fun of him. Shah Rukh said he has no hard feelings towards his colleague.”We often visit each other’s home and we have love and respect for each other. I don’t think there was any need for him to apologise because, it is not really a big thing for me.Both of us don’t take these things seriously, but it is the media that exaggerates the whole situation,” Shah Rukh said via tele-conference Thursday from Mumbai.

Shahrukh Khan ignores Big B’s birthday wish

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan seems to have run out of topics to post on his blog. In his latest post Big B said that he had wished Shahrukh Khan on his birthday (November 2) through an SMS but he is still waiting for an acknowledgement. He further wrote wrote that it was pretty strange for Shahrukh not to reply him back.

Amitabh wrote “Nov 2 was Shahrukh’s birthday and I may have been the very early wishers to him, but he still has not acknowledged. Mobile must have crashed with the number of wishes he had continued to receive throughout the day. Maybe I should send him a reminder. Most unlike him. I wished Gauri and him for their anniversary a few days back and they responded. But why not now!??”

Shahrukh Khan dumps Farah’s husband

Honeymoon Travels director Reema Kagti, and not Shirish Kunder, is now developing Zoya Factor. The film, produced by Shahrukh Khan’s production company Red Chillies, is an adaptation of the best-selling novel of the same name penned by Anuja Chauhan. Says a source, “Differences arose between SRK and Farah Khan’s hubby over the screenplay and script. They had severe creative issues. Both were looking at the script with a different vision.” At this point, SRK decided to change his director.SRK offered the film to Reema as she seemed to understand what he wanted to do with the film. But he forgot to tell Shirish that he was giving the project to someone else to work on.

Shirish found out by accident that the film no longer had his name on it. When Farah heard this, she was hurt and upset at the manner in which her hubby has been ousted. Adds the source, “Shirish had started work on the film and was looking for an actor who would play a cricketer. The film was supposed to go on the floors early next year.”Reema maintains, “I am writing the screenplay of the film, not directing it. Vishal Punjabi is directing Zoya Factor.” Vishal was the visual effects producer for the SRK starrer Paheli which he had also produced. Shahrukh Khan will shoot for Fauji sequel

There has been a lot of talk about Shah Rukh Khan’s company Red Chilies Idiot Box Entertainment buying the rights for a sequel to Fauji, a TV serial that the actor had worked in about two decades ago. SRK, it was assumed, might not be a part of the show.

But he admits that he will be shooting for a few initial scenes of the show.” I will shoot for a few scenes in the show,” says SRK, who is easily the biggest star who made it to movies from TV. But he adds that his presence would be limited in the show as his character would be of a dead man.

Shahrukh Khan aims for eight pack abs

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has a special love for Delhi. After all, he hails from this city. So, he was too happy by participating in the recently held November 1 Airtel Delhi Half Marathon. Kareena and SRK are superheroes

Kareena and SRK were paired with each other in Santosh Sivan’s Asoka in 2001. They will now be reunited as an onscreen pair in Anubhav Sinha’s Ra One, Shah Rukh’s home production.A source tells us, “Ra One is a science-fiction film set in the future in which Shah Rukh plays a superhero. So he will be seen wearing a cape, his underwear over his pants, flying over skyscrapers and saving the day.Technically, Ra One will be India’s third superhero film, Krishh and Drona being the first two. Ra One is a big budget film with never-before seen special effects.”

About Kareena’s role in the movie, our source said, “An actor and star of Kareena’s stature and caliber will not be happy playing just a glam doll so she has signed because she has been given a substantial role in the film.She is super fit and lean too and can mould herself according to any role. The stunning star will also get to kick some butt after Tashan.Being signed on for Ra One is a big deal for Kareena because it will be one of the most anticipated releases of 2010. She already has KJo’s Stepmom remake.

Moreover, working in Ra One will increase her chances of playing the lead in Farah Khan’s Happy New Year. Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are the other actors who are eyeing the film.”Ra One is directed by Anubhav Sinha of Dus, Tum Bin and Cash fame. Shahrukh Khan hugs Shazahn Padamsee

Upcoming actress Shazahn Padamsee is perhaps the luckiest girl around. She got the chance to make Bollywood debut with Ranbir Kapoor in Rocket Singh, and that too by Chak De India director Shimit Amin. It was rumoured she has a kiss sequence with the latest heartthrob.

As if that is not enough, she got a warm hug from non other than Bollywood Baadshah Shahrukh Khan. It happened while shooting for a commercial with the superstar. Shazahn is all praise for King Khan. She said that he is so humble and spoke about several interesting incidents that took place during the shooting of Chak De India. They talked about how calm Shimit is on the sets and also had good laughter. She added that she had asked him to watch her film and give his feedback on her performance.

She said that shooting with Shahrukh was a dream come true. She added that she was so lucky to shoot with Ranbir and Shahrukh at a young age of 22.
