Akshay Kumar breaks his promise for Priyanka

It is common knowledge that Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra have been avoiding each other after their titillating on screen chemistry and the rumours of their alleged romance hit the headlines. It was reported that Akshay even vowed to his wife Twinkle Khanna never to connect with Priyanka again but he broke his promise by spending time with her a couple of days ago.

The meeting happened at a five star hotel in Bandra where Priyanka was rehearsing for an event. Sources said that they bumped into each other and had an amicable conversation for some time. The buzz is that they were comfortable with each other.

It may be recalled that Akshay even stopped interacting to Priyanka, forget about acting with her, after his wife took a serious note of their alleged link-up. He vowed not to work with her ever to save his marriage. He even reportedly walked out of Suneel Darshan’s Barsaat because of Priyanka’s presence.

Sources said that they never exchange pleasantries at events. They didn’t even said hello to each other at the recent party organised by Nita Ambani though both of them were there. It was also reported Priyanka didn’t attend Vijender Singh’s party because Akshay was in the guest list.

So, the recent meeting shocked the onlookers. Priyanka reportedly climbed down the stage while rehearsing and spoke to Akshay, who was waiting for his turn to rehearse.

However, the actors have been denying having any affair since the rumours broke out. May be avoiding each other was just a precautionary measure to stop further rumours, which could adversely affect Akshay’s marriage and Priyanka’s love life.

Akshay Kumar gets mobbed

With his well sculpted hot body and killer looks, Bollywood’s original khiladi, Akshay Kumar is a huge hit among girls! The action star was recently mobbed by besotted models who insisted the actor to consider them in his upcoming flick ‘Tees Maar Khan’ while he was attending a Farah Khan-choreographed lingerie show. Well, the star-struck models did more than flaunting their stunning figures as the whole action turned into a catfight.

With Akshay starring in ‘Tees Maar Khan,’ the models deduced that the star might need a leading lady and flooded the actor with requests.Talking to a news daily, a close source said, “Akshay and his wife Twinkle were seated in front of the stage. Those girls were smiling at Akshay from the ramp itself.”Incidentally, as soon as the show was over, a bunch of models walked up to the actor and said, “‘Tees Maar Khan’ mein fit kara do.” A surprised Akshay told them that the flick required only one lead actress. The scene soon turned ugly as the girls started fighting among themselves.

Realising that the girls won’t budge, Akshay sent them to Farah, the director of the film, by warding them off as, “Please understand. It doesn’t work like this. You have to speak to Farah only.” When enquired Farah, the choreographer turned director said, “Yes, I know about this. Those girls were auditioning for Akshay. All the girls who participated in the show had great bodies. I have collected quite a few portfolios in the last few days. Let’s see who gets selected eventually.”

Akshay FollowsTwinkle Like a Lamb!

He may be commanding a whopping fee and walking ahead of all his contemporaries, but Akshay is not the boss at his home. The hot actor recently revealed that he follows his wife Twinkle Khanna like a little lamb and in case he strays, it is towards the mike of curious journos.

The actor also complimented his wife saying that he has turned witty owing to his interaction with his wife, who has a razor sharp wit.

Girl sheds blood for Akshay Kumar

Fans often go mad for their favorite star. Many a times, they act madness by shedding blood. Akshay Kumar was caught in such similar situation when a die-hard fan of his slashed one of her wrists only because she could not meet him. Says a source close to the actor, “Preeta (name changed to protect identity of underage girl) stalked him for a year. She’d run away from home in Lucknow to meet him and would land up everywhere just to catch a glimpse of him and talk to him. But Akshay always has heavy security around him and she didn’t get her way.”

One day, she happened to land at Akshay’s residence and asked the guard to allow her to meet Akki. As usual, the guard turned down her request. Unable to convince the guard, the girl slashed her wrist in front of them. Luckily, Akshay Kumar was present at his home at that moment and the guard informed him about the incident, he rushed to the girl and took her to the hospital.The source continues, “Once she was stitched up and out of danger, he spoke to her. He made her understand and try and see things from the right perspective, and even called her parents in Lucknow and got them to come to Mumbai.

Then he invited the girl along with her parents to his home for coffee and asked them to take care of her. He told her that she had to look after her parents as family is important and he was very attached to his own. Now the girl’s parents have sent her abroad for her further studies but she’s in touch with Akshay once a month. She writes to him keeping him posted about her developments.”Finally, the long time wish of the girl was fulfilled.

Wasim Akram to coach Akshay Kumar?

Former Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram will reportedly make his acting debut in Nikhil Advani’s next film, Patiala House. The film stars Akshay Kumar. Patiala House is apparently based on cricket and Wasim will play coach to Akki’s cricket team.

It will be shot in London and is expected to release next year. The music will be scored by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lyrics will be penned by Sameer.The film also stars Rishi Kapoor , Dimpla Kapadia and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi heroine Anushka Sharma .

Akshay sends Katrina get well soon wishes

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif is down with jaundice and missing from the promotions for her latest outing De Dana Dan. And her co-star Akshay Kumar was prompt in wishing her speedy recovery.Rumours were rife that the actress was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai Monday night, where she was diagnosed with jaundice and has been advised complete bed rest for a while.Asked if it were true, Akshay said: “Katrina is down with jaundice… We are missing her and hope she gets well soon.”

Apparently De Dana Dan is Akshay and Katrina’s sixth outing together after movies like Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye and back to back hits like Namastey London, Welcome and Singh Is Kinng.They also starred recently in underwater thriller Blue.Akshay, who has had a string of flops this year with Chandni Chowk To China, 8×10 Tasveer, Kambakkht Ishq and Blue, is now keeping his fingers crossed for De Dana Dan.”Our chemistry does work and we’ve seen the results in Singh Is Kinng and other films and we expect the same from this film too.

Raj insisted on not inviting Akshay

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle were not part of the 30-odd B-Town folk invited to the Shilpa Shetty-Raj Kundra wedding reception last night. Says a source, “The newly-weds didn’t want to be in an embarrassing situation and thought it best not to invite Akki and Tina. Akshay and Shilpa were romantically involved over a decade ago and while they were dating, there was talk of marriage.

However, Akki married Tina and a heartbroken Shilpa had to move on. In fact, Raj was firm about Akshay not being invited for the reception.”The source adds that though Shilpa and Akshay met and sorted out their differences a few years ago things again turned awkward after a British tabloid report. “Akshay was livid over a ‘funny’ story which had come out in The News of the World in 2007 after Shilpa had won the UK celebrity show Big Brother.

Look for example what happened at Shilpa Shetty’s wedding the other day in Lonavla.So there we were all excited to see Shilpa babes all ready to tie the knot (finally!) with Raj Kundra. Everybody is having a wonderful time at the venue in Lonavla. I for instance was just putting the final coat of my MAC lip colour in rich plum when I heard it.

GAWD! I couldn’t believe my ears when the melodious strains of a Shilpa Shetty number floated up from the brass band downstairs. Trust me, the song was nice, and the band did not do an altogether bad work at it. The fact that the song was from a film that starred Akshay Kumar apart from Shetty girl is what made it cacophony.So, after dropping my lipstick in shock, my feet took root as I stood in anticipation of what would happen next. They must’ve played the song from Dhadkan for less than a minute when a handful of non-descript people rushed out of the house and asked them to stop playing it. Then is exactly when I fell on the floor laughing.

Well, the situation was undeniably funny though a little embarrassing perhaps for the bride and the groom. The bandwallahs, poor guys, were told to stop playing Akshay Kumar songs. They in fact were asked to stop playing altogether until someone took a look at the list of songs to be played. WOW! Everything was fine after that and the fairy tale wedding took place. I was really happy for Shilpa and would have even shed a few drops of tear if I hadn’t been wearing my latest glitter liner. It’s not waterproof!

However, Akki did make his presence felt at the wedding. Not in person of course. He was NOT invited. But through his songs. The thought of Shilpa just kept me from laughing again!

Akshay Kumar is India’s Brad Pitt

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has referred to Akshay Kumar in an interview to the international edition of Harper’s Bazaar as India’s answer to Hollywood actor Brad Pitt. Says a source close to Akshay, “The premier referred to the actor as B-Town’s answer to Brad Pitt as he felt that Akshay has the same charm and star appeal.”

When quizzed about being compared to Pitt, Akshay quips, “I feel like someone has taken my Porsche and replaced it with a Ferrari. It’s the kind of compliment that makes you feel fabulous but you can’t show it. You are just supposed to nod your head and say thank-you.” The Canadian PM was in Mumbai recently and met Akki, the sole Indian torchbearer for the Winter Olympics to be held in Vancouver in February.

Akshay has also being voted as the sexiest man alive this year by People magazine. Does he feel sexy? “Are you kidding me? It takes a woman to make a man feel sexy. I have never been able to look at myself in the mirror and say, ‘Wow! Akshay you are looking hot today’. I have very low self-esteem. Aishwarya ditches hubby Abhishek for Akshay

Love and all is fine in its own place, really. When it comes to one’s career, I suppose one needs to be a little ruthless at times, right? At least that’s how Juicy Mausi feels. Last time there was a big controversy when he got his wife Twinkle Khanna to unbutton his jeans on the ramp. But this time Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar ensured that the same mistake was not repeated.

This time he sashayed down the ramp for Salman Khan's "Being Human" show at the ongoing HDIL India Couture Week here Tuesday. Dressed casually in slim fit jeans and a smart jacket with aviator glares, Akshay stopped on the ramp, posed in front of her and smilingly cautioned her not to unbutton his jeans again.

"I didn't know that the gesture would create such an uproar. I don't want to go to jail again, so no such retakes for that shot," a smiling Twinkle told IANS.

In April, Akshay had got Twinkle to unbutton his jeans for a fashion show when he walked the ramp as a brand ambassador. The act had put the couple in trouble - Akshay was summoned by police while his wife had to spend a few hours in jail.

Akshay Kumar Cuts down Expenses

Since Akshay Kumar pays all his taxes diligently it is safe and secure to state that his market price is Rs 30 crores per movie. But he’s also aware of the recession around him. When therefore, his wife and child flew in to London to join him earlier this week, Akshay insisted on paying for their air tickets.
Says a source, “Producer Sajid Nadiadwala insisted it was a very small amount and part of the crew’s travel expenses. But Akshay insisted. He won’t burden his producer with extra expenditure at all, though he will charge his market price.”
Confirming this price a producer says, “Akshay does charge Rs 30 crores. No doubt about it. But beyond that there are no extra costs at all. Akshay pays for the expenses that occur during shooting.”
In fact our 30-crore hero who has just delivered another success Kambakkht Ishq decided to economize for the same producer when they reunited for another film Housefull in London this month.
Instead of putting up at the posh St James Hotel where Amitabh Bachchan and other A-listers from Bollywood stay when shooting in London, Akshay chose the posh but nevertheless far less expensive Hotel Cumberland although the producer insisted Akshay stay at a more expensive place.
Says Akshay, “No, I always prefer to stay with the rest of the unit. It always creates a feeling of unity among the crew. In fact my wife and son have just joined me in London. They’re staying at Cumberland with me.”
Apparently Akshay also paid Twinkle and Aarav’s airfare from his own pocket, refusing to let his harried producer bear a bit more of the ever-mounting expenses.
Says Akshay, “Sajid is an old friend. And even if he wasn’t I know exactly how difficult it is for a producer to keep the budget in check.
