Hrithik Roshan gets irritated

Bollywood hunk Hrithik Roshan is feeling discomfort these days and the reason behind his feeling uncomfortable is the long beard that he has grown up for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’. In the film, he is playing a paralytic patient. He will be seen in a wheelchair nursing by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.Hrithik Roshan loves clean shave and could not get out of his new image as the shooting is yet to finish up. He avoided real beard for ‘Kites’ and used the artificial one but when he was not allowed artificial hair for ‘Guzaarish’, he was little disappointed.

Hrithik wanted the film to get over very soon so that he can get rid of the long beard.A source said, “Hrithik has never liked sporting a beard. Give him his clean-shaven look any day. He is getting quite restless and has been telling his friends that he can`t wait to shave off the beard even though some of his friends complimented him on his new look. He agreed to grow it only because it is a Bhansali film.”The source added, “Despite his discomfort, Hrithik is happy that he gave bulk dates for ‘Guzaarish’ and one of its key schedules is currently on at Mehboob Studios.

The film shooting should be complete by the end of this year Advertisement

Hrithik compared to Amitabh Bachchan

Hrithik Roshan, who has had a speech impediment in the past, recently got the best compliment he could ever receive. There was a scene in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish that required him to give a five and a half minute long monologue which they were going to break into two minutes each. Hrithik, however, surprised the team by delivering the entire monologue at one go and finishing the scene in one take.

The scene was about Hrithik, before becoming paraplegic, remembering a woman from his past. Sanjay had decided to break it into three parts so as to not pressurize Hrithik much. However, before Bhansali could call out ‘Cut’, Hrithik kept continuing and delivered the full dialogue intensely. His performance showed that he had worked really hard on rehearsing it. Bhansali walked up to him after the shot and was speechless.

At first, Hrithik thought he hadn’t done it properly. But he was stunned to hear Bhansali tell him that he was in Bachchan’s league, referencing Hrithik’s speech to Amitabh Bachchan’s speech in Baghban. Hrithik was overwhelmed by the compliment as it shows that his hard work to overcome his stammer problem has paid off.

Hrithik Roshan turns stylist for new film

Hrithik Roshan is one of the most stylish men in Bollywood and how he will extend his stylish sensibilities to Zoya Akhtar’s new film that will be shot in Europe next year. A source tells us, ‘Hrithik’s sense of style is very international, hip and European. It is no wonder then that he is the brand ambassador for Provogue where we see him in a variety of looks like a casual club look, a slick corporate look and a rock star look. Earlier, he endorsed John Players. Even in his movies, he has had versatile looks from the sexy biker thief-in-disguise in Dhoom 2 to Emperor Akbar in Jodhaa Akbar to the suave and cool superstar in Luck By Chance. He has a Spanish street look in Kites. He is impeccable turned out at public appearances in casuals or formals and loves wearing solid, bright colours as he can carry them off. He rarely wears prints and carries off hats very well. He uses his height to his advantage.’

About the styling in the film, our source says, ‘Hrithik and Zoya are very excited about the different looks of the characters. Styling and hairstyles have always been important elements of Farhan Akhtar’s films as we have seen in Lakhsya, Don and Dil Chahta Hai. Hrithik will analyze Farhan and Abhay’s body types and discuss their look in the movie with the designers of the film. He will give his valuable input and choose the clothes. The movie is about a road trip so HR wants the look to be glamourous, urban, cool, comfortable and wearable. He hopes like all his other films and endorsements, he will set a new trend with this film too.’

Spotted - Mallika & Hrithik! What Next?

Mallika Sherawat and Hrithik Roshan were recently seen together in Beverly Hills leaving a hotel together and getting in a taxi. Of course, it could have been just two old friends going out to dinner together. After all, they have a common base and they have been thrown together.

In a foreign land - Mallika is about to start work on her biopic of Kamla Devi Harris; and Hrithik has plans to build a base in Hollywood as an action hero - so it's possibly no coincidence that Hrithik's producer father Rakesh was also with them unless of course he was there to chaperone his son? Mallika in the past has expressed an interest in working with Hrithik and Hrithik could see Mallika as a route into Hollywood - so watch this space!

Mallika, meanwhile, must be feeling frustrated at the way that Hissss has entered post-production hell with its release date now put back until the Christmas period. She's also worried that it may fall foul of the Indian censors.

"I am told the Snake Charmers' Association is protesting against Hissss, saying that the film could hurt their image and their chances to reverse the government ban," she says. According to the Snake Charmers Federation of India, there are 800,000 snake charmers in India even though a ban has been in operation since 1991.

After her sojourn in India, Mallika made a big impact on her return to LA with a visit to support the charity CARE, which supports the poor and vulnerable in some of the world's poorest countries. Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Pulitzer-prize winning journalist Nicholas Kristof and Marisa Tomei were also in support. "Nicholas Kristof is a world treasure," Mallika explains, "The work he's done around the globe in support of women's rights and those-in-need is an incredible inspiration to me." Advertisement

Hrithik Roshan turns Pied Piper for Reliance Mobile

Reliance Mobile has rolled out a new TV-led campaign, that aims to promote the simplicity of its tariff plans. The communication has been conceptualised by Cartwheel Creative Consultancy. "Our task was to communicate the simplest tariff plan ever in a memorable and larger than life manner," said D Ramakrishna (Ramki), creative director, when asked about the brief given to the agency.

Hrithik Roshan turns Pied Piper for Reliance Mobile

The TVC begins with a man looking crestfallen at a 'members only' sign, while a young boy is disheartened by an 'extras charged' sign. Similarly, a girl is upset with a 'conditions apply' board. They are all mobile phone customers.

Hrithik Roshan is watching all their disappointed faces, and begins whistling a tune to attract all the irritants, which in turn, begin to turn into mice. Hrithik, too, acquires a flute, and begins leading all the mice to a cliff in true 'Pied Piper' style, where they begin jumping off, thus leaving the Reliance Mobile consumers happy.

"This plan rids the mobile customer's world of all its irritants - hidden charges, special tariff vouchers, STD charges, roaming charges, uncertain charges... They are not unlike the rats in Hamelin. That's where the Pied Piper theme came from," Ramki explains.

When asked how difficult it was to reflect the 'Pied Piper of Hamelin' in a positive light, he said, "With Hrithik dancing, some delightful music, unusual animation and the general joy that comes from the 'liberation', it was not difficult to brighten up the tale." Ramki says, that the campaign stems from the consumer insight that mobile users can't be impulsive and happy if they are dogged by uncertainty about what they are paying for their calls and SMSes.

With a media mix comprising TV, print, outdoor, radio and PoS, the film has been shot by Abraham Cherian of MAD. The creative team that has worked on this campaign includes Ramki, Arthur, Nadeem, Atin, Shaun Kiran Waval, Sourabh and Sachin. Advertisement

I Love her so much, says Hrithik Roshan

Amid crumbling marriages and affairs galore, tattoos are fast becoming the only testimony of love in Bollywood. Saif Ali Khan did it for Kareena, Amrita Arora did for ex Usman Afzal.

And now news is that Hrithik Roshan has found it to be the only way to assure wife Susanne that his love for her is pristine and there is nothing between him and Barbara Mori, his co-star in 'Kites'.

A source told Mumbai Mirror, "Hrithik had been planning to get his wife's name tattooed on his wrist for a long time. He trusted noone but artiste, Sameer Patange, who had earlier too done tattoos for him and Susanne. Hrithik got Susanne's name etched while she is away in London with sons, Hrehaan and Hridaan. The actor is on his way to London and intends to give Susanne a surprise."

"Yes, Hrithik has got Susanne's name tattooed on his wrist. We had discussed it earlier and he had asked me to work on an apt design when he and Susanne got a (six-point star) tattoo done from me a few months ago," Sameer Patange was quoted by the daily as saying.
