Shahid Kapoor ignores Amrita Rao's Twitter messages

Now here is gossip! After Hrs has learnt that Amrita Rao, who has also joined the Twitter brigade, is highly disappointed with her one-time 'good friend' Shahid Kapoor. Shahid has apparently decided not to respond to her posts on his profile.

Amrita is very disturbed at this development and is wondering whether the person she is following is the real Shahid or it's a fake profile. A close friend of the star says: "Shahid was Amrita's co-star and close friend.

He has not been responding to Amrita's Twitter messages in spite of his fans re-Tweeting him on his ignorance. Shahid was in touch with Amrita some time ago and no one knows what has transpired between them. Maybe they are texting each other privately, but Amrita is quite disturbed at this."

The informer adds: "Amrita's real id on Twitter is Amritarao17 and we are sure Shahid has good social conduct and will reply to her messages but she is wondering if she is Tweeting the real Shahid given so many fake profile holders are also."

Meanwhile, the insider revealed that Amrita has finally managed to take a break from work after three long years with a pleasure-cum-business trip to Goa. "Amrita was seen letting her hair down at the popular hangout spots, Brittos and Mambos, pampering herself with Aryuvedic spa treatments, riding bikes in the narrow by-lanes, dancing to live Goan music and enjoying spicy food by the beach in the shacks. Shahid Kapoor needs extra bodyguards to keep girls away!

Everything comes with a price and Bollywood is no different! With two blockbusters ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Kaminey’ under his belt, dimpled actor Shahid Kapur is the current flavour of Bollywood. The cute looking actor whose next-door-boy looks can make girls go weak in knees is having a hard time in tackling his female fans as a result, Shahid wants extra bodyguards for all his shoots.Recently, while Shahid was shooting with Anushka Sharma for Parmeet Sethi’s untitled flick under YRF banner in Bangkok, a bunch of Indian girls left the shy actor red faced by demanding him to remove his shirt!

Talking to a news daily, a source said, “Shahid has a huge female fan following and is constantly mobbed at various places. At times it becomes too risky for him. Not wanting to cause any further problems, the actor has now asked for extra security.” “Usually, Shahid also has fans waiting outside his vanity van and they refuse to move till he meets them. This at times hampers the shoot schedule, disturbing not only Shahid but also the film unit. Now, Shahid wants a group of 5-6 bodyguards to be with him on the sets and also whenever he is shooting at an outdoor location where there is a greater risk of fans barging in on the sets,” continued the source.

However, when contacted YRF, the media conglomerate downplayed the demand for extra security and said, “We haven`t got extra guards for the shoot. YRF does have adequate security for all its shoots at all times. Should an artiste ask for additional security, it will most certainly be provided. However, no additional security has been asked for during this shooting schedule.”

As his upcoming flick ‘Chance Pe Dance’ is all set for release, Shahid Kapur is bound to be ready with a fresh link up! The actor, who is riding high on success waves after the stupendous success of ‘Kaminey’ is using every trick in the book to maintain his ‘hit’ status and remain in limelight for his upcoming films’ sake.

Reportedly, the actor is now flirting openly with his ‘CPD’ co-star Genelia D’Souza over social networking sites, and the actress too seems equally interested!Shahid has previously been linked with Amrita Rao, Priyanka Chopra, Vidya Balan, Anushka Sharma – each time for a film release being around the corner.

Shahid Kapoor brings Big B nostalgia back

Shahid Kapoor does in ‘Chance Pe Dance’ what Amitabh Bachchan did in ‘Yaarana,’ on his way to becoming a renowned singer in the film, and with much of the same dexterity!At the start of the recently released theatrical trailer of Chance Pe Dance, Kapoor is heard mouthing the tongue twister “Kaccha Papad Pakka Papad” like a pro.In the film, Kapoor plays a struggling actor determined to make it big in Bollywood. So along with his daily physical exercise regimen he is also seen doing elocution and pronunciation exercises.

Actors mouth tongue twisters to get their pronunciation right. Shahid uses the technique religiously every morning before arriving on set, says a source from the Chance Pe Dance unit.Considering the toungue twisters that Shahid had to mouth in Kaminey because of his character’s lisp, you would imagine Shahid didn’t need any more practice. If you can say “Favere favere iff manhoof ka chehera dekho to raat tak mayyat pakki famjho” then you have been there, done that. Not so for the perfectionist ‘Fahid!’

Shahid is currently in Bangkok filming for Yashraj Films’ production, Friends N Co. (Working title), directed by Prameet Sethi and featuring Anushka Sharma as co-star. He says he will be back to Mumbai in mid December to promote Chance Pe Dance from end December. The film is due in theaters on January 15.

I am anyway a very private person. I prefer to ignore it or laugh about it.”The Shahid-Priyanka jodi heading for splitsville is making news everywhere including the fact that they did not interact with each other at a recent awards function. “Of course we met there. Who said that we haven’t met? Anyway, I don’t feel the need of justifying it. Everything is cool. But there is a great satisfaction in that journey. In five years, I am very fortunate to be where I am,” he said.Having actor parents, he always wanted to be an actor since his childhood. “When I told my parents that I want to become a Hindi film hero, they reacted as any other normal parent would. They told me that ‘of course, you can be an actor but whether a leading Hindi film hero or not, nobody can promise that’. It’s really a big thing to be a Hindi film hero. I guess it’s a matter of luck.Most people don’t get to do what they love but I am doing what I really love at the end,” he said.

Vidya Balan clashes with Shahid Kapoor

Expect some fireworks at the very beginning of the year as festivities and celebrations continue from New Year celebrations to the entire month of January. There are number of movies lined up for release with massive battle in the happening ever since Karan Johar announced 12th January as the D-day for the arrival of Shahrukh Khan starer My Name Is Khan. There is an around frenzy amongst movies to arrive in January since no big film is risking competing with one of the first huge films of 2009.Two such films are Chance Pe Dance and Ishqiya that have pencilled in 15th January for their arrival on the big screen. Incidentally, the central protagonists of these films are Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan respectively, both of whom were seen together as a pair in Kismat Konnection

Both films were originally meant to arrive in 2009. However, Shahid Kapoor had two back-to-back releases in the form of Kaminey and Dil Bole Hadippa and it made sense for him to space out his film. On the other hand Ishqiya had to keep it’s release on hold since there was a flurry of releases in the last quarter of 2009.What surprises most about the release of Ishqiya is the fact that it was originally contemplating a 22nd January arrival. While 12th February too was being thought of (due to the relevance of bringing the love story over the Valentine weekend), confirmation of My Name Is Khan resulted in change of plans. While 22nd January had appeared to be a confirmed day of arrival, a sudden pre-poning by a week looks more than just a coincidence, considering the fact it clashes with Shahid’s Chance Pe Dance.However, to be fair to the decision of the makers, 22nd January is anyways crowded with Rann and Veer arriving on the same day.

In comparison, 15th January looks much lighter with only Chance Pe Dance looking probable so far. Confirms Vidya, “Yes, I was told over the weekend that 15th January is final for Ishqiya. Beyond that, I don’t have any knowledge about the reason behind the fixing of the release date.”Starring Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah in the lead roles, Ishqiya is directed by first timer Abhishek Chaubhey and is a co-production of Vishal Bhardwaj and Shemaroo’s Raman Maroo. On the other hand It’s My Life is a UTV production, features Genelia D’Souza as the leading lady and has film maker Ken Ghosh at the helm of affairs.

Shahid-Priyanka in same hotel after break-up

Shortly after their break-up, Chopra and Kapoor find themselves sharing the same hotel in Bangkok. Time heals. Also space. Recently separated couple Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra would’ve liked distance between them to get over the initial awkward period right after the break-up. When Shahid Kapoor went away to shoot for Yash Raj’s untitled next in Bangkok, it seemed like a perfect plan. But that wasn’t to be.Priyanka knew she was to go to Bangkok too, a week later but to her horror, she found herself at the same hotel as her ex-boyfriend.

And to make matters more complicated, Shahid is shooting with Anushka Sharma, who he is now being linked with. While Shahid has been shooting in Bangkok for over a week, Priyanka and Ranbir left for the city last night.Shahid is shooting for Parmeet Sethi’s directorial debut for Yash Raj Films while PC is shooting for Sajid Nadiadwala’s Anjaana Anjani with Ranbir Kapoor, who has recently ended his relationship with Deepika Padukone. Too many broken (and now single) hearts together under one roof. They are staying at the Grand Sukhumvit Hotel (previously known as Sofitel) in central Bangkok.

Incidentally, while PC and Ranbir are nursing broken hearts Sajid Nadiadwala will be celebrating his 9th wedding anniversary with his wife Wardha by throwing a grand party in the evening where his cast and crew will be invited in the evening. The mahurat of Anjaana Anjani (directed by Siddharth Anand) will also take place in Bangkok on Sajid’s wedding anniversary.

Vidya Balan’s over Shahid Kapoor

In a recent interview Vidya Balan publicly admitted that she has finally gotten over ex beau Shahid Kapoor.Vidya Balan spoke about how the break-up left her in a state of loneliness affecting her personal and professional life gravely. With all the issue made about her weight and appearance, the actress also lost several friends in the bargain. Her spat with close- friends and designers Manish Malhotra and Shabina Khan on her styling had them publicly swearing off from ever working with her again.Vidya is hoping to redeem herself with her upcoming films which will showcase in her light all together.

The actress spoke of her appearance and look in her upcoming films saying, ‘Paa will see me in the Indian look. I am very excited about Paa and Ishqiya both.The change started by losing…yes, I had gained a bit of weight. I didn’t lose weight to wear suggestive outfits. I lost weight to feel better about myself. I enjoy wearing Indian clothes.’ She also added the relationship with Shahid on a sour note saying, ‘If someone who matters to you talks you down, it can break you.That someone whose approval mattered to me started to constantly find faults with me.It started reflecting on me.

At that point of time, it was important to walk away from that relationship. I don’t want to take his name.’ On her disassociation with Shabina Khan she added, ‘I don’t bother about how people feel about me. What matters to me is how I feel about them. As for Shabina, what I feel about her is what I feel about any other professional acquaintance.’ She signs off saying, ‘Today, I am standing alone, but I am happy again. Shahid Kapoor Worries due to Food Shortage

Being Asia’s Sexiest Vegetarian doesn’t mean things are easy for Shahid Kapoor. The actor, who has to leave for Bangkok tonight, is worried he won’t find enough varieties of vegetarian food there.

Shahid is leaving for Bangkok to shoot for Parmeet Sethi’s film. The last time he stayed in the US for 40 days, he faced a similar problem. His right hand man had to instruct the chefs to cook according to his likes and dislikes, as they didn’t have much to offer when it came to vegetarian food.

Shahid serves non-vegetarian food to his friends but is a firm vegetarian who doesn’t even eat eggs. So, he’s worried that the same thing may happen in Bangkok. Advertisement

Shahid Kapoor is all set to do an Aamir Khan

Choreographer Ahmad Khan is back from the US after months’ shooting for a song with his best-friend Shahid Kapoor. And Ahmad just can’t stop singing his star-pal’s praises for the generosity Shahid showed in the US. The actor actually made sure Ahmad Khan’s kids got a long-cherished dream to come true. Says Ahmad fondly, “I had been promising my two sons Azaan and Subhan a trip to Disneyland for months. Earlier when we shot in the US for another Yashraj Film Bachna Ae Haseenon I kept hoping there would be time. But I couldn’t manage to get away. But this time, Shahid made sure it happened.”

Apparently Shahid not only ensured that Ahmad wrapped up his work as quickly as possible he made all the arrangements for Ahmad his wife Saira and two sons to take off for Disneyland.“And why not?” says Ahmad defensively. “Shahid and I are childhood friends. Before my mother held my sons Shahid took them in his arms. So it’s perfectly natural for him to look out for me and my family.”Recalling the fabulous experience Ahmed says, “Out of the one month I spent in the US only 12 days were devoted to shooting the song. It wasn’t even a dance song. It was a concept number showing the hero and his friends splurging and binging all over the US. We shot at casinos and at various pleasure and tourist spots in Philadelphia, Orlando, New York, New Jersey and Chicago.”

Shahid will now be seen in Ahmad Khan’s directorial project Pathshala. “In a 2-hour long film Shahid is there for an hour. So he’s there for 55 minutes. His role is like Aamir Khan’s in Taare Zameen Par. He comes in mid-way and yes, he’s the teacher. Both Shahid and I have decided to focus on the kids in the marketing rather than on Shahid.”

Shahid not too happy about his vegetarian ways!

Bollywood’s much-celebrated vegetarian Shahid Kapur doesn’t seem very happy for being the way he is! The actor recently revealed that he is not too happy with the limited variety of food that he gets whenever he is out of India, because he is a staunch vegetarian.A few months back, Shahid was voted as the ‘Sexiest Vegetarian in Asia’ in a poll conducted by PETA.And now, the actor is a feeling a bit edgy as he is all set to fly to Bangkok for a shooting schedule, since he is worried about the fact that he won’t get sufficient variety of veg food there.

The actor revealed that he also had a tough time for the same reason in the US where he stayed for 40 days last month while shooting for the same film. A friend of Shahid says, “Shahid serves non-vegetarian food to his friends whenever he has a party at home but himself is a staunch vegetarian. He doesn’t even eat eggs.”“Many hotels abroad do not have much to offer as far as vegetarian food is concerned.

When he was in the US last month, his man Friday had to especially instruct the chefs in the hotel what he likes and dislikes so that they could accordingly cook for him. A similar thing might happen in Bangkok,” adds Shahid’s friend.

Kareena will be Shahid’s well wisher

Kareena Kapoor has said that she will always be Shahid Kapoor’s well wisher. Kareena who had called off her relationship with Shahid after their blockbuster Jab We Met said that she has no problems working with Shahid. She said that she loved Kaminey and felt Shahid was superb in the movie. Kareena added that their personal equation should not define their professional life and both of them were matured enough to understand that.

When quizzed about their pending movie Milenge Milenge she said that she had never rejected the idea of dubbing for the movie with Shahid and dismissed rumours that she was hesitant about promoting the movie along with him. Katrina said that when she had no problems doing a movie with Shahid there is no reason she would have problems promoting it.

Well all hope that Shahid and Kareena come together and complete Milenge Milenge and give some relief to director Satish Kaushik.

Kareena-Shahid no longer in touch

When Kareena Kapoor dated Shahid Kapur, she boldly accepted and like other actresses she did not name their relationship as friendship and now that she has broken up with him and dating Saif Ali Khan, she declared the world that she is in love with Saif. She is a woman who speaks her mind out and never feels hesitate to share her feelings to the world.

Kareena to star with Shahid in Mausam

When Shahid Kapoor was going strong with Kareena Kapoor his father Pankaj Kapoor had decided to cast the couple in Mausam. Pankaj had in fact written the script of his directorial debut keeping Kareena in mind. The one time lovers had last starred together in Jab We Met before their much publicised break up. Ironically it went to be their biggest hit together after the couple in the heydays of their courtship had delivered some duds.

After Shahid and Kareena split Mausam went into a back burner. They were not comfortable working with each other which meant that even the Satish Kaushik directed Milenge Milenge hasn’t seen light of the day. Panjak had to think about cast some other actress instead of Kareena and his producers Religare Vistaar Entertainment decided to launch a nationwide hunt for a suitable actress who could get into the shoes of Kareena.

Kareena upon hearing this said that she had no problems starring opposite Shahid in any movie as she separates her professional life from her personal one. She added that the only thing she would look for is a good script and a good role for herself. Shahid had always maintained that he had no qualms about starring with Kareena. Seems like the audience will soon get to see Shahid and Kareena romance together even if it is just on-screen.

NOW Shahid Kapoor does a double role for YRF

Shahid Kapoor received a lot of appreciation for his double role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Kaminey. And now the star is all set to repeat his twin impact for Yash Raj Films’ yet untitled venture. Kapoor who played the characters of identical twins Guddu and Charlie in Kaminey will be seen playing two separate characters from two different phases of life for YRF’s film directed by Parmeet Sethi. Parmeet Sethi who also happens to be YRF’s favourite Archana Puran Singh’s husband was a part of the extremely successful YRF film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.

A source from the film unit informed us, “Shahid Kapoor will be donning two different characters for YRF’s next untitled venture. The backdrop of the film is very different. While one phase begins in the US the other will be based in Mumbai. Shahid has already got a new look for the film. The change in his character will be visible in his styling and behaviour. Shahid has been paired opposite Anushka Sharma.”

The unit recently shot for a month in Philadelphia and have now returned to Mumbai. After finishing the Mumbai schedule, the team will move to Bangkok for a brief schedule. Shahid and Anushka have already shot for several portions ofthe film in Mumbai including a pub scene at a popular nightspot in the city.

PETA To Remove Cloth of Amrita Rao and Shahid Kapoor

Bollywood’s hot Amrita Rao and Shahid Kapoor are going to be ripped off their cloth by PETA in an upcoming advert campaign!

Amrita Rao has always been my personal favorite actress and I think this choice of PETA is really going to rock their upcoming campaign.

However we all know PETA is mad! Their mission is great, e.i to encourage people to stop eating meat and also promote vegetarianism.

Shahid Kapoor getting Dressless with Amrita Rao!

Bollywood actors Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao look hot together. They hit off very well in their film Vivah and were romantically linked though they denied any affair. This time around, they are going to appear together in birthday suits.


The news is doing the rounds that Shahid and Amrita will appear nude in a PETA advertisement. They will campaign with the theme ‘Let Vegetarianism Grown on You’. They will be wrapped in tomato vines as the look is ‘tomato-and-pepper’.

Shahid Kapoor not Dating Priyanka Chopra?

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is reportedly not dating his “lady love” Priyanka Chopra.


The actor, who was in love with Kareena Kapoor, has been linked with array of ladies. First it was Sania Mirza, then Vidya Balan and now the current lady is his Kaminey co-star Priyanka Chopra.

However Shahid denies being in a relationship. May be Sania, Vidya or now Priyanka. Shahid says, “I am single and quite happy. When I am in a relationship…people will come to know.”

Imtiaz Ali Planning a Sequel to ‘Jab We Met’ with Shahid and Kareena

Imtiaz Ali is finally giving in to the endless pleas of his fans. The talented taskmaster, who wooed us all with his romantic film ‘Jab We Met’, has decided to give its sequel a serious thought. And if all goes well, fans will be watching this much-wanted sequel in the coming year.

Done with Saif Ali Khan’s debut production ‘Love Aaj Kal’, Imtiaz is back to business. And now according to the latest Bollywood news Imtiaz plans to follow his hit ‘Jab We Met’ with a sequel.

Confirming the news the director told a news daily, "It`s an idea, yes. What happens to the two characters Geet and Aditya after they`ve met and gone through all those adventures? What happens to them after the story ends in Jab We Met? I`m asked that question so often that even I`ve started wondering about the future of Geet`s relationship with Aditya after we left them."

So do we see a ‘happily ever after’?

Well not if Imtiaz had his way. “I don`t see a very pleasant togetherness for Geet and Aditya. They`re two such strong-headed individuals, there`s bound to be friction. Maybe Geet will go back to Anshuman (the moronic beefcake who dumps her). There`s certainly an element of curiosity for me about where these characters go", he said.

However a bigger niche here is the lead couple Shahid and Kareena. The real life couple that starred in Ali’s hit parted their ways even before the movie had hit theatres. But Ali does not see shahid and Kareena’s current animosity as a hurdle. In fact the director is positive that he’ll get the duo to act together again.

"I always cast my characters. Saif and Deepika were in the picture long before Saif offered to produce ‘Love Aaj Kal’,” Ali said.

Well, if anyone can, it’s Imtiaz who gave the couple the biggest hit of their lives so far.
