John Abraham with Hollywood hotties

One of the best looking hunks of Bollywood is now set to team up with a Hollywood hottie. John Abraham will pair with a Hollywood actress in director Shirish Kunder’s much-touted ‘Alien Sahib’.

If reports are to be believed, Kunder is hoping to rope in either Scarlett Johansson or Anne Hathaway for the film which will be made for global audiences. The director plans to use the fusion 3D camera technique for the flick and will be signing a lot of technicians from the west for it.

But the big surprise is indeed the presence of a Hollywood actress.

“The female protagonist is a foreign national so we decided to cast a Hollywood actress for it,” Kunder is quoted as saying in a media report.

Though Shirish refuses to divulge any name, he’s flying to Los Angeles to meet the agents of a couple of Hollywood actresses.

With the meeting of talents from two the biggest filmmaking industries in the world, the possibility of a Hollywood actress working in a Bollywood movie is much more today than it was a few years ago. Just earlier this year, we saw Akshay Kumar romancing Denise Richards and rubbing shoulders with Sylvester Stallone in Kambakkht Ishq. John already has the advantage of having had international exposure through Deepa Mehta’s film Water which was nominated for the Oscars two years back. Advertisement

John Abraham has a date with aliens

Bollywood is catching up fast with its big brother Hollywood. Even as James Cameron’s movie Avatar hits the screens this Friday, a plan is being chalked out in B-Town to make a spectacular film with fusion 3D camera technique used in ‘Avatar’.

Wielding the directorial baton for the film will be Shirish Kunder, Farah Khan’s hubby, who showed his craftsmanship with special effects in his first film Jaaneman which tanked at box office. John Abraham will play the leading role.

Shirish and John have been discussing the story for about a year and have now signed a deal to produce it together. Titled ‘Alien Sahib’, the movie will be a 3D film.

John will not play an alien in the movie. But he will indeed interact and befriend an alien character.

The actor describes the film as “a simple, endearing story with beautiful emotions”.

The movie will roll in 2010 when John is done with the sequel of Dostana and another film with director Nishikant Kamat. Advertisement

John Abraham helps build homes in Thailand

Bollywood heartthrob John Abraham is following in the charitable footsteps of Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt. While Pitt helped rehabilitate those displaced by cyclone Katrina in New Orleans, Abraham is building homes for poor families in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The actor joined Habitat for Humanity’s annual Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project this week and worked alongside volunteers including actress Pooja Bedi and Jacqueline Fernandez.

The Bollywood trio helped build and repair homes in partnership with low-income families in need of decent housing, a press statement from Asianet said.”It’s great being part of the building process,” said Abraham, who was named a Habitat Global Hero for his work in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Ethiopia.

The greatest thing about Habitat for Humanity, Abraham said, is its revenue model, with homeowner families helping to pay for houses for future families.”I find this really special. And I think it’s a great model for other organizations,” the actor said.

John Abraham miffed with Blue director

John Abraham is blue alright; the actor isn’t taking nicely to Anthony D’souza’s public claims to have approached him for his next two films. After the first week collections of Blue, the filmmakers went on to tag the disaster of a film as a boxoffice hit. However critics and audiences say otherwise. To distract the attention newbie director Anthony D’souza went on to announce his next two films, one being the sequel to Blue and one being Aerial, a film sources say loosely based on the Tom Cruise starrer Top Gun. However what miffed the rather cool and calm actor was when Anthony claimed that he had zeroed in on John for both the roles.

A source close to John reveals, “John didn’t take it well at all, while he has utmost respect for any director whatsoever, he was angry that Anthony told the media that John would be a part of his next two films. Which however is completely untrue and he was upset that Anthony would want to gain publicity by making such a claim. He later on spoke to Anthony about it and the director apologised in return. John only believes in the power of a script and not cheap publicity, considering Blue wasn’t well-received by the audience, he knows what to keep in mind before accepting a film.” John recently confirmed to the press saying, ‘I have immense respect for Anthony and the fact that he wants to work with me.

However, I am neither doing any film titled Aerial nor any underwater film. I am also not doing Blue 2.’When StarBoxOffice contacted Anthony D’souza about the same, he replied, “At the moment I am going through scripts and had only thought of making the sequel to Blue and Aerial. However that wasn’t set in stone and as far as John goes, I had hoped to star him in my forthcoming film but haven’t approached him or spoken to him as of yet. I will do that when I zero down on a good script or story.” If that’s the case we wonder why the hue and cry for eh!
